Rachel Davies - In Conversation with Lisa Le Feuvre / Open rehearsal of Manchester Girls Choir

Lisa Le Feuvre and artist Rachel Davies will discuss artists’ projects that create open dialogue and exchange between specific communities and the wider public, accompanying Rachel Davies' current film installation The Assembly at Cornerhouse gallery.

Following the discussion, Manchester Girls Choir, the subject of The Assembly, welcomes visitors to an open rehearsal in Cornerhouse Gallery 3. This rehearsal will be their last before competing in the coveted International Trophy at Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.

Members of the 1980’s Manchester Girls Choir have been reassembled by Davies for the making of The Assembly, which incorporates dance and pop music, and harnesses the power of memory to summon emotive forces that can merge with the routine of our daily lives. The Assembly can be seen at Cornerhouse until Sun 26 Aug 2007.

IMPORTANT - Places for this event are strictly limited, advance booking is highly recommended (see right).
