Curated by Øyvind Torvund

Bandrom Bethnal Green is the latest instalment of Øyvind Torvund’s Bandrom project, which began with the Oslo Sinfonietta in 2003 with concerts in cars and a caravan. Each event is a happening that incorporates music, visual art, video and food, and combines hybrids of sonic and visual styles.

In this event:

* Members of ensemble Plus Minus will teach short avant-garde folk pieces ”by ear” to invited musicians; food will be served as you watch the process.
* Visual artists will make souvenirs for you based on the drawings of Canadian artist Marc Bell.
* "Krull Quest" (animation film with live cello) - looking at old French ornaments and traditional Norwegian rosemaling paintings.
* "The Stacks" - a new piece for percussion with Powerpoint presentation. New pieces for prepared guitar.

VISUAL ARTISTS: Penny Sadubin, Tim Rushby-Smith, Tanya Mlcek & Galen Wainwright.
MUSICIANS: Plus Minus, Kjell Tore Innervik, Håkon Stene, Tim Parkinson, Jennifer Allum, Adam De la Cour, Joakim Munker & Dom Lash.

This event is supported by Fond for lyd og bilde, INTRO, Rikskonsertene, the Norwegian ministry of foreign affairs, NKF and Norsk Musikkfond.
