The Ark - The Vacuum Cleaner

Artist/activist The Vacuum Cleaner will be on site on the Castlegate to erect a magnificent Ark out of cardboard. Members of the local community are invited to help him save the animals (also made out of cardboard). A christening of the Ark will happen on the evening of Wed 23 May, 7pm, after which the heavens may open...

- Mon 14 - Tue 22 May: Ark building 10am-6pm

- Sat 19 and Sun 20 May: Save the Animals Workshops (age 11-16)

Wed 23 May, 7pm: S.O.S. followed by the Christening of the Ark

Thu 24 May: The Heavens Open...

The Save the Animals Workshop will be a two hour interactive event, during which we will devise a simple performance to accompany the ‘launch’ of the Ark. During the workshop we will investigate some of the themes with which the Ark project is concerned, as well as creating objects to be included in the exhibition.
