twenty+3 projects presents "white wash" by emerging Berlin artist Kerstin Gottschalk. "With a background in painting, Gottschalk subverts viewers expectations of painting and drawing. Using paint, cardboard, stickers and printers' waste paper, her work takes ordinary exhibition spaces and destabilises them", says the Berlin Museum Director and Mart Stam prize jury-member Jörn Merkert.

Kerstin Gottschalk has exhibited in numerous German galleries and has won or been shortlisted for a number of German prizes. “white wash” is her first UK exhibition.

twenty+3 projects is a contemporary art space in the converted front room of artist Heidi Schaefer’s terraced house in Manchester, UK. It is an international space for exhibitions, events, discussions and residencies connecting artists from different parts of the world and Manchester. Previous shows include Cheryl Sourkes' Featured Webcam, in which the artist used live-feed material from internet webcam communities to explore issues of observation, privacy and surveillance.
