MAY DAY FESTIVAL EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS

Jack-in-the-Green and May Day Morris Troupe
This troupe of artists, performers and musicians present Morris dancing performances and workshops, Maypole dancing, 'greening' a giant Jack-in-the-Green Sculpture, 'rough music' making and entertainment from Dr. Bernhart Gloss the clown.

BetterBanner Making Workshop
Artist: Richard DeDomenici
People don't protest as much as they used to in the olden days. DeDomenici intends to remedy the situation in these workshops to develop a protest banner fit for the 21st Century. Come along and create your own banner about an issue you feel strongly about.

Speakers Corner and Speech Programme
Artist: Mat Fraser
The artist will curate a series of speeches from issue-based specialists including those who question the current powers on protest and assembly, brought in by Parliament in response to 'The War on Terror'. The public are also invited to use the platform to air their own views.

Bob and Roberta Smith's Apathy Workshop
Artist: Bob Smith
As a humorous and surreal antidote to the prevailing sprit of the event, the Apathy Workshop invites hypocrites, the lazy, sceptics, realists, apologists, popularists and unpopularists to devise prior engagements, heckles and excuses for not getting involved in the pointless attempts by the well-meaning to change the world.
