REJECTED FUTURES 2007 - Call For Rejections

Applications are now being accepted for Rejected Futures 2007, the first annual exhibition showcasing the most cutting edge in contemporary art turned away by most major art venues. This year Rejected Futures is hosted by theartmarket, Leeds. Submissions are selected by a panel of Contemporary Artists and Curators, all of whom are quite nice people. Applications are invited from Artists working in all media, all work must be quite good and previously rejected from another exhibition or competition.

Rejected Futures is a second chance for the culturally disillusioned, an opportunity to showcase what might have been, plus I'm sure those big shows only select people they know anyway.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

STEP 1. If you've not already done so APPLY TO AN ART PRIZE (Prize/festival/open-call/regional/national/international)
STEP 2. If you have not already received it, wait for a response
STEP 3. If your work wins a prize. WELL DONE! If it's been overlooked this time forward it to us!

=ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST HAVE BEEN REJECTED IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS=

Submissions should include the following:
•A completed application form for a different show.
•Documentation of the artwork. A statement or proposal accompanied by appropriate images, CD, or DVD.
•An up-to-date CV
•At your discretion, you may wish to include Home-made cakes or similar bribes.

REJECTIONS SHOULD BE RECEIVED BY 30 Apr 2007. WE ENVISAGE HOSTING / HOLDING THE SHOW IN JUNE. LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE TURNED AWAY.

Work that is exhibited will be subject to theartmarket's voluntary contribution of £5 per artwork, please see the website for details
