ARTISTS - Come Camping with FrenchMottershead

A call for participants for DIY 4:

Come for a weekend away! Country walks, sitting around the fire, drinking and chatting til late, interspersed with 'fun' professional development sessions.

As part of DIY4, we're running two weekends in late-July, one in Suffolk and one in Lancashire. Eastern and Northwest-based artists take priority but there is space, so if anyone from other regions is interested in coming along, see the links below for more details, then email us by next Monday (11 Jun 2007).

We’ll cook and eat together. We’ll go on socially-engineered walks, sharing creative experiences. We’ll sit around the campfire, drinking and chatting under the stars, giggling, telling stories, arguing about whose turn it is to do the washing-up.

Interspersed with this frivolity will be sessions, introduced by Rebecca and Andrew, drawing on their own experiences, but very much about the group sharing ideas and methodologies. These will cover topics such as being strategic and creative with marketing to audiences, programmers and funders; keeping in touch with work; setting up the support networks we need; easing the load through collaborations; proposal-writing; and so on …

Best wishes
Rebecca French and Andrew Mottershead
